Durable characteristics are different: lithium batteries are more delicate, over-discharge or over-charge will cause permanent damage, and thus the need to install protective circuit boards, and every six months or so need to charge and discharge maintenance; nickel-cadmium batteries can withstand over-charging or over-discharging, simple and convenient to operate, long periods of time will not make the performance deterioration, when the charging is completed to restore the original characteristics.
Power volume ratio is different: lithium battery power volume is relatively high, the same weight, volume can store more power than nickel-cadmium batteries.
Environmental characteristics are different: nickel-cadmium batteries in the cadmium is toxic, nickel-cadmium batteries are not conducive to the protection of the ecological environment, the many shortcomings of nickel-cadmium batteries have been eliminated out of the application of digital equipment batteries. And lithium batteries basically do not contain toxic elements, small impact on the environment, and thus be used in a large number of digital electronic equipment.
